Photo Gratitude

Don’t get too close.

I have been phlegmy and feverish since Friday.

Phlegm.  What a nasty word.  It’s even nasty looking when it’s typed out.

Don’t worry, though, several doses of Zicam and Aleve later, and I’m feeling better.  This week was far more laid back than the last.  We didn’t do any extravagant wining and dining.  We didn’t step foot on Broadway.  We didn’t conquer a new neighborhood.  Instead, I spent a significant amount of time in the kitchen and a significant amount of time recharging my batteries.

As much as I’d hoped to immediately transition into a new temporary role at work, this week I was assignmentless.  The good?  I love being at home.  I love hanging out with the dogs all day.  I love having dinner ready when George gets home from work, and I love being able to spend hours getting lost in the world wide web.  The bad?  I am able-bodied and need to financially contribute to my household in order to feel worth a damn.  It’s the strangest double-edged sword I’ve ever experienced.  I don’t wanna work, but I wanna work.  Annoying.  But on the up-side, the dogs and I were able to walk George to his subway stop each morning.  That was fun.  Especially when the sun was shining.  Millie enjoyed our morning walks more than anyone.  That girl would be tanorexic if she weren’t a dog.

Thursday I felt like I’d died and gone to heaven.  The sun was out and proud, and New York City enjoyed a 60 degree day!  I spent most of the afternoon walking around our neighborhood and shooting pictures of all the things that reminded me of the season ahead.  Things felt clean and fresh and colorful and new.

Friday felt more like February.  Dammit.  But still, The City looked pretty magnificent, even amidst fog and drizzle.  Quieter, even.

Thanks to my friend, Alison, and her design company, Ten Tiny Toes, I got new accent for my kitchen this week.  Cute, huh?  I’ve had it framed for two days and can’t stop changing it up.  Alison does great work and is super accommodating.  If you’ve got any design needs, she’s your girl.

So that’s it for my week.  Pretty low-key, and I’m still tired.  Damn the phlegm.

{If you can’t tell, I’m in the midst of a watermark issue.  My apologies for the inconsistency.}

Sorry you're sick! I hope Donut didn't give you what she had.

I think that picture of the apple is frameworthy. Gorgeous.

She did. Little girl is germy across the miles. 🙂 I was pleased with the apple pic. Only took me 863 tries to get it. 😉

I'm prepared to turn our apartment into a TTT shrine. 🙂 I can send you pictures of some of the frames I've got so you know what we are working with. 🙂

The warm bit of weather was a tease, wasn’t it?! I’m ready for some bright colors popping out of the ground and warm, blue skies.

I have that same "I love you because" prints (just in a different style)…I have one for the husband and one for each kid. I LOVE them! It's so fun to see their reactions to the messages I leave them.
Sorry about your phlegm issues…gross.
And 'tanorexic'? Made me laugh out loud!!
