Silent – Day 4

by Jen on January 9, 2011

I’m bummed.  I’m back to work tomorrow.  It’s been nice to be home with two dry erase boards, a laptop, and no expectations to talk.  George and I have continued to develop our own system of communication, which is turning out to be surprisingly efficient over the phone, and fairly frustrating in person.  You’d think the opposite, right?  I’m more frustrated with our face to face communication because it’s nearly impossible just to shoot the breeze.  I realize more and more how many mundane things I have to say throughout any given day.  No wonder my vocal cords are a mess!  I want to tell him unimportant details about unimportant things, but can’t without making the effort to write it down or e-mail it.  Then, considering the effort, I decide the things I’m dying to tell him are really pretty ridiculous.
I took down our Christmas stuff this weekend.  Should I be ashamed it took me so long?  As much as I love the feel of our holiday house, I’m happy to have things back to normal.  Now I can do gymnastics in the living room again.  Thank gawd.
For the sake of my potential reflux problem, I made the extremely difficult decision to quit Coke.  A part of me has died.  It’s been rough.  I’ve had a caffeine withdrawal headache for 36 straight hours and ibuprofen can’t seem to scratch the surface.  I’ve been attempting to medicate with s’mores.  S’mores historically brighten my darkest of days.
Hope you guys had a great weekend.  I’ll see you tomorrow!

Oh gosh, I remember when I stopped drinking caffeine, in my teens. I drink it every once in awhile now (even less lately due to TTC) but when I stopped cold-turkey I had severe vertigo and migraines for about two weeks. I was shocked at the effect of it on my poor little body! I hope your withdrawal is quick and goes away soon.(Warning: another person died so that's my latest post on my blog, but please do come over and comment with whatever you want – whether it be caffeine or nose-pokeage!)P.S. Have you ever made S'mores with nutella? Because that's pretty much awesome.

Hey girl. Just stopping by to say hello and thanks for your comment on my awesome post. (Awesome if you love pain. lol)No talking for a month?! Seriously? And I saw the thing they shoved up (and down) your nose. Holy crap! I seriously hope they get to the bottom of this thing (without a scope). Hang in there!
