I believe I’m starting to see the end of a six day stomach flu and am preparing to brave the outside world by going to an FSU baseball game tonight. It’s a Regional game, so there is quite a bit on the line, and by association, George has turned me into nervous fan.

For the past 12 years, George has made the pilgrimage to Omaha, NE with his buddy for an annual “guys trip” to the College World Series. This year, the “guys trip” is getting a makeover and including the ol’ ball & chain (that’s me) and her parents. So, a win for Florida State today would potentially make our trip to Omaha even that much more special. (Although, for the sake of not angering The Baseball Gods, it is important to clarify that winning today only advances us to the Super Regional next weekend.)
Since becoming a Brulliott, I’ve been introduced to an entirely different side of life. I’ve spent nights freezing my nuts off at football games and days sweating til my bras were ruined at baseball games. I’ve organized closets so filled to the brim with garnet and gold pullovers that I almost drowned in school spirit. I’ve named the message board George frequents, so that I can talk about “her” like she’s literally his “other woman”. (Her name is Janet, by the way.) I’ve stood at tailgates and faked like I wasn’t completely zoned out while George and his fellow Seminole fans have debated and re-hashed RBI’s, ERA’s, HR’s, OBP’s, SLG’s and BAP’s. Oh, and by the way, as displayed above, I also now have conversations with “The Baseball Gods”. I am, and always will be, in awe of the amount of money, mileage, and time it takes to be a real, die hard fan of college
sports.
And although I will probably always just consider myself a die hard fan of THE die hard fan, I do enjoy it and am grateful to have learned and travelled and had the experiences in my life that have all resulted from following these teams. So, if The Baseball Gods are listening… my man would just pee himself over a win today. Bring it on!

With a 37 to 6 win yesterday, it’s obvious you have the direct ear of the baseball gods. How about you chat with them regarding our games in Omaha.
I’ll see what I can do.
The fact that you even know what an RBI is, tells me that you are definitely IN LOVE with this man. Had I asked you to tell what that was about 4 years ago….well, it wouldn’t have been pretty! SOOO, that being said, I’m super impressed

I hope she has made her plea to the Baseball Gods before Noon on Friday
